Cytokines are small proteins that act as messengers conveying essential information between cells in our body in the immune system. Our research aims to understand the role of IL-1 cytokines in the way autoinflammatory diseases develop. By understanding the function of cytokines in different inflammatory models we will be able to design novel targeted therapies for patients suffering from autoinflammatory diseases.
